Intensive Discipleship

Colossians 1:28—We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.

A Ministry to people with the Truth of God’s Word

We believe the Word of God is sufficient to rely on in ministering to others with the Word of God (II Timothy 3:16-17). We believe the Scriptures have the answer for problems in marriage, families, substance abuse, loss of loved ones, and every area of life. We believe the Word of God is sufficient to address all these problems (II Peter 1:2-4). We will rely upon the Word of God and His Spirit to help us understand and solve the problems we face. We, also, believe the Word calls us to minister the Word of God to others (Colossians 3:16; I Thessalonians 5:14). It is our desire to help you find the joy and peace that is found in Christ through obedience to His Word and how the gospel is relevant to overcoming our problems.

Confidentiality

We have a counselor certified through the ACBC association, lay counselors in training, as well as a pastor, willing to use their time to minister to you as a service to God. There are no charges or fees for the counseling. Our counselors are deemed trustworthy and committed to the confidentiality of those they serve. Should it become necessary to speak with our pastor, the pastor of your church, or other appropriate people about your situation, it would be done with your prior knowledge. In matters that are found to be illegal or a matter of life and death, appropriate authorities would be notified.

Issues

We offer counsel in many areas. They include the following, but not limited to the issues listed: marital difficulties, conflict, communication problems, abuse, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, fears, sexual sins, parenting problems, anger, grieving over the death of a loved one, stress, addictions, suicide, divorce, and many other issues.

Sessions

Sessions may last 60-90 minutes for a period of 8-10 weeks. In some circumstances the counseling may last longer. If counseling cannot begin immediately, we will give some beginning reading and homework so you can begin seeing God’s answers to your problems and start the process of change. We will do our best to work within your schedule. Because there is no charge for the counseling and time is a value, we ask that you make every effort to keep the scheduled appointments.

Expectations

We expect you to bring a notebook and a Bible to each session. Homework will be assigned during each session for you to complete throughout the week and to be completed before the next session. It is very important to be attending a Bible-believing church. If you have no church, we will ask that you attend services here during the course of the counseling.
